2024 BMW M3 Competition

by Lars de Vries

The Competition badge has always meant business, and the latest M3 keeps that promise intact. With 510 hp from the S58 inline-six, this thing lunges forward with barely a protest from the traction control. We took it to Zandvoort for a morning — and yes, it still makes you grin like an idiot.

Porsche 911 Carrera S (992.2)

by Mieke Janssen

Some cars improve with each generation; the 911 somehow manages to remain itself while still getting better. The facelift brings revised styling and a hybrid option we haven't tried yet — but the base Carrera S is still the one we'd pick. Pure, communicative, and absurdly usable every single day.

Tesla Model 3 Highland Long Range

by Tom Bakker

The Highland update fixed most of what annoyed us about the original Model 3. The interior is genuinely nice now, the ride is more composed, and the range — nearly 630 km WLTP — makes it one of the easiest long-distance EVs on the market. We drove Venlo–Amsterdam–Venlo without a single charge stop. Not bad at all.

Volkswagen Golf R Mk8.5

by Lars de Vries

The Golf R has always been the sleeper of the performance world, and the Mk8.5 revision brings a much-needed software and interior overhaul. The 333 hp feels stronger in real life than on paper, and the 4MOTION system makes it almost impossible to embarrass yourself. The ultimate all-weather performance car for the Netherlands.
